This year’s installation. I’m a bit neurotic when it some to some details, so in my quest to make this art installation more visible, I have kept on searching for accessories with more white to contrast against the dark bronze of the statues. I’ve actually seen people taking family pictures for holiday cards next to these, so I think people like the tradition.

What, you haven’t seen a coyote a few short blocks from the main downtown street?

Here it is, in all it’s glory. The rope is hung, the main branch is swaged off to another branch for extra support, and the seat is finished with several coats of marine spar varnish. It is, I say modestly, almost the envy of all the kids in the neighborhood…

It’s time for installment 6,732 of our Barn Projects Series. I kid, but really, we’re nearing “the end”. The first order of business for this weekend was to clear brush from the area where the fire suppression water tanks are to be located. Have you ever tried to clear scrub oak? I have now, and it’s hard, even with a rented backhoe.

Here’s me, skiing at A-Basin, almost always the last resort open in Colorado. I live close enough that the drive is worth it for some almost summer skiing. I’m still waiting for skiing on 4th of July…
